William Goode 1813

This is the last Will and Testament of me and William Goode of Cosgrove in the County of Northampton Gentleman being of sound memory and understanding First I direct all my just Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expenses shall be paid and I give and bequeath to my Brother Joseph Goode of Rugby in the County of Warwick my Feather Bed Bolster and Mattress and I give and bequeath to my Nephew Thomas Goode of Bicesher [Bicester?] In the County of Oxford my Best Coat and Waistcoat and six shirts Also I give and bequeath the remainder of my wearing apparel to my said Brother Joseph Goode and his four Children And I give and bequeath unto Francis Goode of the Town of Buckingham Grocer if and Thomas Bates of stony Stratford in the county of Buckingham Butcher their Executors and Administrators all and Singular my Monies Securities for Money Chattels Effects and all other my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of whatever kind the same may be upon trust that they the said Francis Goode and Thomas Bates and the Survivor of them his Executors and Administrators do and shall as soon as conveniently may be after my decease pay then out all my just Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expenses as aforesaid and after payment thereof I direct my said Trustees and the Survivor of them his Executors and Administrators to pay out of the said Trust Monies within six months after my decease unto my said Brother Joseph Goode the sum of Fifty Pounds to and for his use and benefit which Sum I give and bequeath to him accordingly and I further direct my said Trustees and the Survivor of them his Executors and Administrators out of the said Trust Monies to purchase Four hundred pounds Stock in the three per cent Consolidated Bank Annuities if I shall not purchase the same in my lifetime and I direct my said Trustees and Survivor of them his Executors and Administrators to pay the Interest or Dividends of the said Four hundred pounds Stock as and when they shall receive the same to my said Brother Joseph Goode for and during the term of his natural life and after his decease I direct my said Trustees and the Survivor of them his Executors and Administrators sell out the said Four hundred pounds Stock and pay the Monies arising from such Sale after deducting the Expences thereof unto and be equally among the said Four Children of my said Brother Joseph Goode and I further direct my said Trustees and the Survivor of them his Executors and Administrators to pay out of the said Trust Monies the several Legacies or Sums of Money to the several persons here in after named that is to say to the said four Children of my said Brother Joseph Goode the Sum of Twenty pounds each to my said Nephew Thomas Goode the sum of one hundred  pounds to the Son of my said Nephew Thomas Goode by his first wife the sum of Twenty pounds and to Mrs Patience Church of Cosgrove aforesaid the sum of One hundred pounds which said several Legacies or Sums of Money I give and bequeath to be several persons before named to be paid to them within six Months next after my decease and I give and bequeath all the residue and remainder of the said Trust Monies and all other my Personal Estate not before disposed of unto the said Francis Goode and  Thomas Bates for their respective use and benefit to be equally divided between them share and share alike and I a further will order and direct that my said Trustees and the Survivor of them his Executors and Administrators shall and may retain and reimburse himself and themselves out of the said Trust Monies all such Costs Charges Journeys and Expences which he or they shall or may incur sustain or be put unto in the Execution of the Trusts hereby in them reposed and that my said Trustees their Executors Administrators shall not be answerable or accountable for any more Money than shall come to their hands respectively and for any loss which may happen to the same unless through his or their wilful neglect nor shall be accountable or accountable the one for the other but each of them for his own Acts and Deeds only and lastly I do hereby Nominate Constitute and Appoint the said Francis Goode and Thomas Bates Executors of this my Will and do hereby revoke all other wills and testamentary instruments here to fore by me made in witness whereof I the said William Goode the Testator to this my last Will and Testament contained in five sheets of paper and to each sheet thereof have set my hand and seal the 17th day of May in the year of our lord 1813 William Goode signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator William Goode as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Thos Worley Michael Judge

Whereas I William Goode of Cosgrove in the County of Northampton Gentleman have made an duly executed my last will and testament in writing bearing date the Seventeenth day of this Instant May Now I do hereby declare this present writing to be a Codicil to my said Will and direct that the same to be annexed thereto and to betaken as part of thereof and I do hereby give and bequeath to Mrs. Patience Church in my said will named the further sum of Fifty Pounds and my Silver Watch in addition to what I have given her in and by my said Will and I do hereby ratify and confirm my said Will in all other particulars thereof In Witness whereof I the said William Goode have to this Codicil set my hand and Seal the Twenty fifth day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Thirteen William Goode signed sealed published and declared by the said testator William good as and for a Codicil to be annexed to his last Will and Testament and taken as part thereof in the presence of Thos Worley Michael Judge
