Tobias Paine 1692

In the name of God Amen I Tobias Paine of Old Stratford in the parish of Covesgrave in the County of Northampton Lacebuyer being weak in body but of a perfect mind and memory praised be God doe make and ordayne this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following First I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hopeing through the meritorious Death and passion of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon of all my sinns And as for my body I commit the same to the earth from whence it came to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named And as for that Worldly Estate which it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis I give and devise unto my sister Sarah Rosse the wife of John Rosse the sume of Five pounds to be paid to her within six moneths after my decease Item I give and devise unto my Nephew Richard Newman sonn of Thomas Newman of Hevencoate Tenn pounds to putt him out an Apprentice to such trade as my Executors shall think fit and to be paid at such time as he shall be fit to be putt out an Apprentice and his own receipt shall be a sufficient discharge to my Sister Jane Five pounds to be paid to her within six months after my decease I give and devise unto Elizabeth Ratley my Sister Five pounds to help sett her two sonns out Apprentices and to be paid to her within six months after my decease Item I give and devise unto my Neeces Elizabeth and Mary Newman Five pounds apiece to be paid to them within six months after my decease and their owne receipts shall be a discharge to my Executors for the payment thereof Item I give and devise unto my Brother in Law George Bland a bond of Five pounds which is due from him to me and all interest that is due thereon Item I give and devise unto Mr John Mansell Rector of Furthoe a gold ring of the value of a Guinea to be bought for him by my Executors Item I give and devise unto my Father in Law William Porter of Old Stratford in the parish of Covesgrave aforesaid one Guinea piece of Gold Item I give and devise unto my loving wife Mary Paine and my said Father in Law William Porter their Executors Administrators and Assignes the sume of Fower hundred pounds of lawfull money of England In trust nevertheless and to such uses intents and purposes as are hereafter mentioned expressed and declared that is to say In trust That they or the survivor of them their Executors Administrators or Assigns shall as soone as conveniently they can lay the same or the most thereof out in a purchase or purchases of Landes or houses In trust for my sonn Tobias Paine and his heires But in case my said Sonn Tobias Paine shall dye before he shall attaine to his age of one and Twenty yeares Then the Land or houses soe to be purchased as aforesaid shall goe And I do give and devise the same unto my said loving wife Mary Paine and to her heirs And my will and meaning is That the Land or houses soe as aforesaid to be purchased shall at the purchasing thereof be settled to the uses and in Trust as before mentioned And my will and meaning is That in case my said sonn Tobias Paine shall happen to dye before he shall attain to his age of one and Twenty years and the said Fower hundred  pounds or some part thereof shall not be laid out in purchasing houses and lands as aforesaid Then I give and devise the same unto my said loving wife Mary Paine her Executors Administrators and Assigns And my will and meaning is That the rents issues and proffits of the said Fower hundred pounds or houses or Lands soe to be purchased as aforesaid shall goe and be for the maintenance and duration and bringing upp of my said sonn Tobias Paine untill he shall attaine to his age of one and Twenty yeares and shall be received by my said loving wife and my said Father in Law William Porter their Executors Administrators and Assigns In trust for my said sonn Tobias Paine as aforesaid Item all the rest of my goods and chattells hereby unbequeathed doe give and devise unto my loving wife Mary Paine And I doe make and ordain my said loving wife Mary Paine and my said Father in Law William Porter Executors of this my last Will and Testament revoakeing all former Wills by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this one and Twentieth day of December In the third yeare of the reign of our Soveraigne Lord and Lady William and Mary by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King and Queen Defenders of the Faith etc. Annoq Dim One Thousand six hundred ninety one Tobias Paine Signed sealed published and declared to be the last Will and Testament of the above named Tobias Paine and attested by us in the presence of the Testator Peter Tyler William Lax Leo Thomson
