John Parrat 1752

In the Name of God Amen on the twentieth eighth day of December in the year of our Lord sixteen hundred eighty I John Parrit of Cosgrave in the County of Northampton Blacksmith being weak and ill in body but of perfect memory doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following that is to say First I Commend my Soul to Almighty God my Creator beleeving that are a shall receive for pardon and free remission of all my sinns and bee saved by the precious death and meritts of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ and my body to the earth from whence it was taken and to bee buried in such decent manner as my Executor hereafter named shall thinke convenient And for my worldly goods which the Lord hath lent me unto mee I give and bequeath as followeth First I give unto Mary my loving wife and little Close of pasture ground called by the name Swan Close and a lee of greensward ground in Common fields Abutting upon the said Close and one house in Churchend in Hanslup containing one Bay of Buildings bee it more or lesse formerly the house of my Brother Richard Parritt all the Parish of Hanslup or Thrup dureing her naturall life and from and after her decease I give the said Close Lee of the greensward and house withall thappurtenances thereunto belonging unto my sonne Thomas Parrit and to his heires forever Further I give unto my sonne Thomas Tenne pounds to be paid by my Executor hereinafter named within One year after my decease further I give unto my son Thomas All my working tools and Iron Coles or any materialls belonging to the trade and what mony is due to mee upon by my shop booke Further I give unto my sonne of Thomas Thirty pounds to be paid after my wives decease by her Executor or Administrator if not paid before Further I give unto my sonne John Paritt Twenty pounds to bee paid within one yeare after my decease by my Executor Further I give unto my sonne John Tenne pounds to bee paid after my wives decease by her Executor or Administrator if not paid before And for all the rest of my goods and chattels unbequeathed after my funerall charges and other expences being satisfied I give and bequeath unto Mary my loving wife whom I make and ordain my whole Executor of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have set to my hand and seal the day and year above written John Parit his marke Sealed in the presence of Thomas Heward his marke John Scott Richard Rawlins
